Hypnotherapy is the application of hypnosis in a clinical setting towards making desired change in an individual’s life. Hypnosis is a technique for working with an individual’s unconscious mind. Our conscious mind, or the mind we are aware of, allows us to plan, organise and perform tasks and is the part of our mind that analyses and questions. Our unconscious mind works away in the background regulating all our bodily functions, it is the place where all of our learning and memories are stored and is the home of our unconscious emotions.
Hypnosis is a state of relaxed focus, very like when we visualize something we are thinking of doing in the future. In this state we can use the conscious imagination, to communicate directly with the unconscious mind and create positive change.
